Privacy Policy

Blueberry is a Mac app, made by Derainged LLC (“Blueberry”, “we”), that sorts your iMessages into the conversations waiting on you, and pulls plans, to-dos and promotions out of them. This policy explains what the app and this website collect, why, and what you can do about it.
On your Mac
With your permission, Blueberry reads the Messages database on your Mac and the names macOS shows for your contacts. Your conversations, settings, and the plans, to-dos and promotions Blueberry finds are kept in Blueberry’s folder in your Mac’s Application Support directory. Blueberry sends a message through Messages only when you press send.
What reaches our servers
- Your account. Your email address, and either a password (stored hashed by our account provider, Supabase) or, if you continue with Google, your Google account’s name, email address and account identifier.
- Messages to sort. To find plans, to-dos, promotions and spam, the app sends the recent text of the conversations being sorted to our server, which passes it to AI model providers through Vercel’s AI Gateway and returns the result. We keep usage records (counts, sizes and costs), not the conversations. When you ask Blueberry to draft a reply, we keep the latest incoming message of that conversation, up to 4,000 characters, for debugging. We do not use your messages to train models, and we do not sell them.
- Billing. Payments are handled by Stripe. We keep your plan, its status and Stripe’s identifiers for it, never your card details.
- Email. Sign-up and password-reset codes are sent by Stytch; other mail you ask for, such as a download link, by Resend.
- Product analytics. The app and this website report usage events to Mixpanel: what was pressed, counts, durations and outcomes, with your account email and app version. They never include message text, contact names, phone numbers or the titles of what Blueberry found.
- Advertising measurement. Where the law allows it without consent, this website uses the Meta Pixel and Conversions API to learn whether an ad led to a sign-up, which can include a hashed copy of your email address. Campaign cookies record which link brought you here.
Google user data
Blueberry uses Google in two optional ways. It never receives your Google password.
Sign in with Google
If you continue with Google on blueberry.cool, we receive your name, email address and Google account identifier (the openid, email and profile scopes). We use them only to create your Blueberry account and sign you in to it, and keep them with your account.
Google Calendar
If you choose Google Calendar as the place your plans go, the Blueberry Mac app asks for two permissions:
- See the list of your calendars (
calendar.calendarlist.readonly), so you can choose which calendar plans are added to. - Create events (
calendar.events), so a plan you add in Blueberry is added to that calendar, and removed again if you undo adding it straight away.
Blueberry does not read, change or delete any other event. The connection is made from your Mac directly to Google: the access granted is stored only on your Mac, in Blueberry’s Application Support folder, readable only by your macOS user account. Calendar data and the access tokens never pass through or get stored on Blueberry’s servers.
How we treat it
- We use Google user data only to provide the features above.
- We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to develop, improve or train AI or machine-learning models.
- We do not let people read it, except with your permission, to investigate a security issue, or where the law requires.
- We transfer it to no one except as needed to provide these features, to comply with the law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with the same protections.
Blueberry’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Disconnecting Google
In Blueberry, open Settings › Calendar and choose Disconnect: Blueberry deletes the access from your Mac and revokes it with Google. Signing out of Blueberry does the same. You can also remove Blueberry at any time from your Google Account’s third-party access page. Events Blueberry already added stay in your calendar until you delete them.
Keeping and deleting data
What is on your Mac stays there until you delete Blueberry’s folder or the app. Your account and the records tied to it are kept while your account exists. To delete your account and its data, email hi@blueberry.app from the address on the account; we delete it within 30 days, apart from what we must keep for tax or legal reasons.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections. Sessions handed from this website to the app are single-use, expire within minutes and are encrypted while they wait. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you without undue delay if a breach affects your data.
Children
Blueberry is not meant for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date above and tell you in the app or by email before the change applies.
